Shiseido Aqualabel Deep Clear Oil Cleansing

Scroll down to content

Despite my initial disappointment, I have kept experimenting with double cleansing and oil cleansers and honestly I am relived! I have found the Shiseido Aqualabel oil cleanser to be the perfect make up remover for every day.

The product claims to:

– dissolve waterproof makeup and residuals, and eliminates black heads and pores;
– Remove aged surface skin substance and melanin through simple cleansing, it keeps skin flawless and silky white.

I am not sure at how it helped my skin become “flawless and silky white” but it did do a terrific job in removing all my heavy make up and waterproof mascara.

The product has to be emulsified in order to work, so what I used to do was remove my eye make up with a cotton pad (the best method in my opinion) and then use additional 2 pumps of product for the rest of my face.

I have realised that I have oily, sensitive skin and that some products like cleansing balms (i.e. Clinique) can break me out but this one didn’t. It comes out as a oil-like texture but once the water is added, it emulsifies in a really light lotion-like-consistence and honestly double cleansing with this ensures that no make up residue is left over. I used to always have some residues of make up whenever I would tone my face, but this oil cleanser literally melted off everything.

I have used this over 4 months (constant use) and finished the whole bottle and I will definitely repurchase.

The ingredient list for the oil is:

Mineral oil, cetyl ethylhexanoate, PEG-12 diisostearate, diphenylsiloxyphenyl trimethicone, PEG-10 isostearate, water, isostearyl alcohol, lactic acid, Mg chloride, PCA, Ca chloride, hydrogenated lecithin, PEG diisostearate 8. Ethanol, BHT, PEG / PPG-35 / 40 Dimethylether, Tetrahydroxypropylethylenediamine, Glycerin, BG, Tocopherol, Na hydroxide, PEG-30 Soysterol, K hydroxide, EDTA-3Na, Citric acid, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

As previously mentioned, mineral oil is not as toxic or dangerous as it is perceived and is a great moisturising agent. Lactic acid is also a very mild exfoliator, perfect for sensitive skin. The oil cleanser has fragrance but I feel that due to its low concentration it does not irritate my skin.

I definitely recommend this product!

The rating for this products are:

Packaging5/5The packaging is ergonomic, simple, minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing.
Effectiveness5/5 Very effective in removing make up, I am not sure about the pore function but It definitely has some exfoliating gentle agents.
Value4/5It is quite pricey, I paid £14 pounds for it from Yes-Style, but honestly it is worth every penny. Especially if you are a make up lover.
Longevity4/5This product lasted me 4 months and it is 150 ml. I used a loooot but consider that 2-3 pumps are enough to remove the whole face and I am quite sure it can last up to 6 months with normal use.
Overall18/20AMAZING!!!… if you have dry skin, sensitive skin and need a good make up remover. This also saves you coins in terms of eye make up remover because it performs great.

You can purchase this oil in both amazon and yes-style (I recommend the latter).

I hope that you find this review useful and if you have already tried the product WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ON IT? Let me know below.
